Breeding rules NMBTC  2011

1.Matings are allowed if both parents are legitimately enrolled / registered with a kennel club and pedigree which is affiliated to the FCI.

2. All minibulls who are used for breeding  should be tested for heart and kidney, the minimum age at which these tests can be done is set at 15 months, also necessary for each  of those minibull a valid DNA PLL test to be send, or already in possession of NMBTC. in case  a male is used before 15 months  the tests has to be done before the mating take place and has to be done also  later when the proper age is reached

 3. It is not permitted to females younger than 16 months or older than eight years to breed. Also according to the regulations of the RvB it is not permitted to  breed for the first time with females older than 5 years. They are automatically excluded from the breeding program. The breeder shall be deemed to have sufficient experience to judge whether a minibull girl is mature enough to get a litter.

4. The maximum number of litters from each  bitch is 4, or less if the total number of alive pups is 20 or more. Between two litters a rest period of at least 10 months has to be taken. After that there has to be 12 months before the next mating takes place.

5. It is prohibited to use a male or female, which carries more than 50% bloodlines from the Standard Bull Terrier. Each planning on using such combination has to be prior presented to the board of the NMBTC for verification and approval, that after checking the family tree, will announce his findings. When you have any doubts, always send a request for verification to the Board.

6. Matings between interbreed x interbreed are not allowed. Violations of these, or other straining health rules, automatically implies that the member is expelled with immediate effect without any right to a refund of membership fee which already has been paid. The fact will be mentioned in the next clubmagazin of the NMBTC.

7. Matings  between  PLL free dogs  x Carrier is allowed only if a child carrier is a combination of free  x carrier.

8. Double PLL carriers ( PLL carriers from carrier x carrier PLL) and PLL sufferers are excluded from breeding, there is NO exception.

9. Animals with behavioral - and / or skin problems which are not caused by mishandling, should not participate in the breeding program. When in doubt, an expert can be consulted on behavior and /or health. The result of this is binding, the costs are for the respective breeders, regardless of the results.

10. Each animal will enter at least 1 x on a show and regardless of classification, can  be used for breeding purposes, subject to compliance with the rules as described above. The age for participation in a show is set from  the age of 9 months and up .

11. Each breeder will deliver a DNA/PLL testresult  to all the descendants of his or her miniature bull terriers,  also gives a proper contract, in which all data of the dog, including the warranty and the DNA test results of the dog. This in case  if one of the parents is a DNAPLL carrier  . Results will be hand over to the new owner before the age of 12 weeks of the puppy. If the  parents are tested both DNA/PLL  free ,  a DNAPLL test for the puppies isn't nessecary

12. Each breeder breeds on their own responsibility and will abide by the rules as defined by their Kennelclub and the NMBTC.

13. For making a new registration from a minibull easier, the breeder required a kennel name to register with the Board. But when they only want to have a single litter a dispensation can be requested, which should be early send in, the deadline is two months before the scheduled mating. The decision will be notified by mail or email. When plans are there for a second  litter registration of a kennel name is a must and must  be produced before the second mating has taken place.

14. In case of emergencies such as outbreaks of other genetic abnormalities within the breed of miniature bull terrier, these rules may be altered so that the continuation of a healthy population guarantees by dogs with diseases other than listed here to support  the breeding program. These rules are a fact  when they were circulated by post or email and approved by the members. The period in which this happens depends on the seriousness of the situation. This does not need a special meeting.

15. Any doubt about identity of parents  the  NMBTC  can ask  for a  DNA profile. Costs are for the breeder if it appears that this was justified and the club when it was unjustified.

16. At doubt about the correct interpretation of one of these rules should be sought prior information in one of the directors, they will send a.s.a.p. detailed information about the issues.

17. If a congenital defect (new or known) is revealed by a dog of one of its members,  the will notify the board as soon as possible . A plan will  be put  together with the respective breeder / owners  as soon as possible to contain and thus minimize any  further health damage.

18. Notices shall be deemed correct and true, if they come directly from the owner or breeder from the  dogs and only then  they are published. All communications / results on the health of the breed is listed in the newsletter, where genetic disorders are concerned.
